Gabe Poulin is a 2021-22 Gulf South Conference Top Ten finalists.
Poulin is the second male selection from the University to be selected as he joins former Choctaw baseball standout Blaine Crim, who received the honor in 2019. He seeks to become the first male Choctaw to bring home the Commissioner's Trophy.
Poulin helped pilot the Choctaws to their first-ever berth to the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships in 2021. Poulin earned USTFCCCA All-South Regional accolades, the second of his career, and grabbed his third All-GSC nod. He is a two-time member of the GSC Academic Honor Roll and grabbed his fourth straight term on the conference's academic honor roll.
The Ruston, La., product has also served his community well during his time in Clinton. He has served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for three years, including one as the Head of the Legislation and Reform Committee. He has also helped lead two Make-A-Wish reveals and volunteered his time working Mississippi High School Athletic Association and Midsouth Association of Independent School state cross-country meets.
