Freshman Caleb Reese has been named the Mississippi College Merit Health Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Feb. 3).

Caleb Reese had an impressive weekend debut as the Choctaws opened the 2020 season. Reese led the squad with a .556 batting average as he went 5-for-9 from the dish, including a double and a three-run home run, along with a team-best four RBI. The Bossier City, La., native registered multiple hits in two of the three contests as Mississippi College took its third straight series against Harding University. His homer in the second game of the series placed the Choctaws on top for good en route to a 6-2 victory.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Feb. 7 as it travels to Young Harris, Ga., to face the YHC in a three-game series over the weekend. First pitch on Friday is slated for 3 p.m. Saturday's single game is marked for 1 p.m. while Sunday's finale is slated for Noon. All times are central.
