Junior Winford Ross has been named the Mississippi College Merit Health Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Dec. 16).

Ross (Durant, Miss.) led the Choctaws with 13 points in a loss at Christian Brothers on Sunday afternoon. He went 4-of-7 from the floor and pulled down five rebounds with three blocked shots.

On the season, Ross is averaging 10.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, leading the Gulf South Conference with 2.7 blocked shots per contest.

The Choctaws will wrap up the 2019 portion of their schedule on Saturday (Dec. 21) when they travel to Cleveland to face rival Delta State at 4:00 p.m. in Sillers Coliseum.
