Senior Kristen Qualls has been named the Mississippi College Renasant Bank Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (April 1).
Qualls (Madison, Miss.) set the school record for career RBI with a grand slam against Union on Wednesday. The former Madison Central standout now has 141 runs batted in over her four seasons, eclipsing the mark previously held by Brooke Smitherman (135, 2011-15).
On the week, Qualls hit .400 (6-of-15) with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI. She had a hit in every game to give her a season-high five-game hitting streak. She also hit a home run against Montevallo on Saturday.
On the season, Qualls is now hitting .286 with six doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI.
Qualls and the Lady Choctaws will host a mid-week home doubleheader against Spring Hill on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
