Junior Shayla McKissock has been named the Mississippi College Renasant Bank Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Feb. 25).
McKissock (Bryant, Ark.) helped lead the Lady Choctaws to a three-game sweep of West Georgia to open GSC action. She hit .500 with a team-high four runs scored to go along with three stolen bases in three attempts. She also posted an on-base percentage of .583 and tied for the team-lead with five hits.
In the extra-inning win on Monday, McKissock went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while she was also 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the 13-0 win on Sunday.
On the season, she is hitting .367 and is leading the team with 18 hits and 18 runs scored. She has walked a team-high 10 times and is 11-of-11 on stolen bases.
McKissoock and the Lady Choctaws will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Pensacola, Fla. for a three-game series with GSC-leading West Florida.
