Sophomore Rakeem Wilson has been named the Mississippi College Renasant Bank Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Feb. 18).
Wilson (Hamilton, Ala.) picked up a gold medal with a first-place finish in the 200m Dash (22.53) at the LSU Twilight in Baton Rouge, La. His time was two hundredths of a second faster than second-place finisher, Fred Campbell (William Carey).
Wilson was also a part of the 4x400m Relay Team that took third-place with a time of 3:23.29. He was joined by Luke Hodnett, Zach McManus and Dalton Dempsey as the bronze medalists in the event.
Wilson and the Choctaws will next be in action at the Mississippi College Season Opener (March 2), signifying the start of the outdoor season.
