Evan Del Rio posted a school record time of 8:47.16 in the men's 3,000 meters at the Samford January Open on Saturday, Jan. 19 in Birmingham, Ala. The performance surpassed the previous record of 8:48.80 held by teammate Jordan Pritchard last season. The meet marked the first collegiate meet for the Huntsville, Texas, freshman.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Sewanee Tiger Indoor Invitational in Sewanee, Tenn.
