Sophomore Dyllan Taylor has been named the Mississippi College Renasant Bank Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Dec. 10).

Taylor (Brandon, Miss.) scored 13 points with three rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 96-65 victory over Pensacola Christian on Saturday afternoon in A.E. Wood Coliseum. He went 6-of-10 from the floor and 1-of-2 from the three-point line in the victory.

The former Pelahatchie HS standout is the only Choctaw to start all seven games on the early season, averaging 11.0 points and 5.0 assists per game. He scored a season-high 16 against Talladega and had a season-high eight assists in the season-opening victory over Belhaven.

Taylor and the Choctaws will be back in action this Saturday (Dec. 15) as they welcome rival Delta State to Clinton at 4:00 p.m. They will wrap up the 2018 portion of the schedule on Monday (Dec. 17) when they host Christian Brothers at 7:30 p.m.
