Junior Rita Okoro has been named Mississippi College Renasant Bank Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Nov. 12).

Okoro (Owerri, IMO State Nigeria) scored both game-winning goals for the women's soccer team as they picked up a pair of victories in the NCAA Division II South Regional, defeating Nova Southeastern (3-0) and homestanding Barry (2-1).

The first game-winner for Okoro came in the 32nd minute against the Sharks as she chipped the goalkeeper from over 30 yards away to give MC the only tally they would need. Against the Bucs, Okoro found the back of the net in the 29th minute as the Lady Choctaws erased an early 1-0 deficit and held on for the win to move to the Sweet 16.

Okoro and the Lady Choctaws will be back in action this weekend as they will travel to face Lee University. The date, time and location of the match is yet to be determined.
