Junior Jess Davenport has been named the Mississippi College Wright & Ferguson Female Athlete of the Week.

Davenport (Widnes, England) scored a "Golden Goal" in the 2-1 overtime win over Saint Leo on Friday evening. After the match moved locations and was delayed more than two hours, she sent the home fans home happy with a tally in the 96th minute on an assist from Marisa Saunders.

The forward missed all of the 2017 season and most of 2016 with an injury, but she tallied her 18th career goal in just 24 matches in the victory.

Davenport and the Lady Choctaws will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Memphis for a pair of matches against Rockhurst (Friday) and Barry (Sunday).
