Junior Andrea McDonald has been named Mississippi College Wright & Ferguson Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (April 23).
McDonald (Metairie, La.) was named the Female Field Performer of the Meet at the Gulf South Conference Championships, scoring 28 total points with two gold medals and a sliver last weekend.
She opened the week with a 2nd-place finish in the Javelin Throw (39.66m) on Thursday, collecting MC's first medal of the meet. McDonald would go on to collect two 1st-place finishes on Friday, winning the Triple Jump (12.21m) and High Jump (1.67m).
McDonald and the Lady Choctaws finished 6th as a team at the GSC Championships, scoring 62 total points. They are scheduled to compete in the Southern Miss Open this Saturday in Hattiesburg.
