Sophomore Zack Ingram has been named the Mississippi College Wright & Ferguson Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (April 2).

Ingram (Vestavia Hills, Ala.) helped lead the Choctaws to a series win over Union, allowing just six hits and two unearned runs over 8.2 innings. He tossed eight shutout innings before an error allowed two unearned runs to cross in the ninth. Ingram struck out eight with no walks in the victory.

On the season, Ingram is now 2-0 with a 3.47 ERA. The second-year starter has 39 strikeouts with 18 walks over 46.2 innings, Ingram has allowed two or fewer earned runs in six of his nine starts this season.

Ingram and the Choctaws will be on the road to face Montevallo on Wednesday before returning home for a three-game series with Christian Brothers this weekend.
