Junior Sam Darnall has been named the Mississippi College Wright & Ferguson Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (March 26).
Darnall (Bells, Tenn.) took home the 1,500m Run title with a time of 4:06.71 at the Falcon Classic hosted by the University of Montevallo. He set a new meet record with the time winning the race by over a second, picking up 10 points for the Choctaws to finish third in the final team standings.
Darnall also collected points in the 800m Run, finishing 6th with a time of 2:03.45.
Darnall and the Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday (March 29) at the Hinds Relays in Raymond, MS.
