Luke Govero finished sixth in the heptathlon at the Kent State hosted Golden Flash Gala. The Clinton, Miss., native totaled 4,898 points in the two-day event. The Clinton, Miss., native, who competed in his first, indoor heptathlon, recorded a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.38 and third place finish. He also posted a solid performance in the long jump with a leap of 22'3 to place fourth. Govero added a fourth place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.20. The sophomore finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 38'6.25; sixth in the high jump with a distance of 6'1.5; fifth in the pole vault with a jump of 13'1.5 and 10th in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:13.33.
Mississippi College returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 18 as the Samford University Multiple Competition.
