Sophomore Nathan Faciane has been named the MC Wright & Ferguson Athlete of the Week after his performance in a tight loss to rival Delta State on Saturday night.

Faciane caught six passes for 96 yards, including a 65-yard reception that set up MC's first touchdown to take a 10-6 lead late in the second quarter. The Lacombe, La. native also tossed a touchdown pass to Christian Keene in the third quarter, cutting DSU's lead to 20-17 in the third quarter.

On the season, Faciane leads the team in catches (14) and receiving yards (276). He currenlty ranks 8th in the Gulf South Conference in yards per reception (19.7) and receiving yards per game (55.2).

Faciane and the Choctaws are back on the road this week to face West Florida with kick-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night in Pensacola.
