Signing Day Central: Mississippi College Football Welcomes 2015 Class

CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College head football coach John Bland and his staff are releasing the names of the 2015 Choctaw Signing Class throughout the day on Wednesday, February 4th.

As of February 13th, the Choctaws had officially signed 18 student-athletes to go with 13 junior college mid-year signees in December. On Wednesday night (Feb. 4), the Choctaws will celebrate the 2015 signing class at The Froghead Grill in Clinton, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Bland will officially announce the signing class at 7:00 p.m. on WHJT Star 93.5 FM (LISTEN HERE).

"This is an exciting day across the country, and we are certainly excited about the student-athletes that are becoming Choctaws today," said Bland. "We have addressed some needs with this class, and we got a lot better with the new additions to the team today."

  - Arnold was named the Alabama 7A Lineman of the Year in 2014 as he led Hoover HS to three state championships. As a senior, he led the team with 144 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss and five sacks. He was an Alabama Mr. Football finalist in 2014 and was named to the ASWA All-State First Team. Arnold was named the Birmingham News All-Metro Defensive MVP and was Hoover High's Defensive Leadership, team captain and Most Inspirational Award.

  - Bagley helped lead the Alabama powerhouse Hoover HS to three state championships and finishing second on the team with 89 tackles as a senior. He also recorded five forced fumbles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups and one interception on the season. Bagley was also the 6A state champion in the triple jump.

  - Beard was a three-year starter at SCHS, helping lead the team to a 2012 state championship and a #5 national ranking in his sophomore season. He was a Second Team All-Region selection and helped lead Sandy Creek to three region championships.

  - Cash was named to the LSWA All-State First Team and was selected to the All-Shreveport First Team. He was named the District 1-5A Defensive Most Valuable Player and was an All-State Second Team selection by the coaches association.

  - Coleman rushed for 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. He was selected as a team captain and the Offensive Most Valuable Player. Coleman won the "Strongest Man" Award and was part of the 4x100m sectional championships team in track & field.

  - Cunningham was a four-year starter at Hernando and was named to the All-Region Team twice. He was also named a Best of the Preps honoree by the Commercial Appeal and lettered in basketball, track & field and powerlifiting while at HHS.

  - Freeman was a team captain at Lewisburg High and was an All-District selection twice, once at running back and once at safety. He was also a Commercial Appeal Best of the Preps selection in 2013 and 2014 and he played basketball and ran track at Lewisburg.

  - Guyot was a three-time All-District selection at Bolton, earning First Team honors in his junior and senior seasons and a Second Team selection as a sophomore. He was also recognized as the top student-athlete at Bolton High School at the 2014 SCIAA All-Sports Banquet.

  - Hall led American Heritage in both tackles (120) and tackles for loss (31) in his senior season. He also tallied three sackes, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and two pass breakups in 2014. Hall was a two-year starter and helped lead his team to a state championship. He also was a four-year starter in lacrosse and was a three-time team captain.

  - Harison was a three-year starter at PCHS, leading the team in interceptions in his junior season. He tied the Paulding County record for most interceptions in a single game and played in the Georgia Northwest All-Star Game. Harison also attended the Deion Sanders Prime 21 Camp and placed in the Georgia State Weightlifting competition.

  - Humphries was a Wendy's High School Heisman Winner at West Point HS and was selected to participate in the 2014-15 Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game. He was a two-time All-District selection at West Point and was named to the All-End Zone First Team.

  - Ingram was a decorated player at Captain Shreve, earning All-District, All-City and All-State honors. He was also selected to play in the LHSCA All-Star Game.

  - Johnson was a two-year starter at Spain Park and finished his career with seven interceptions and four fumble recoveries. As a senior, he tallied 35 total tackles. He chose MC over Delta State and West Alabama.

  - Lewis rushed for over 1,400 yards and 23 touchdowns, averaging nearly 13 yards per carry in his senior season. He was an LHSAA Honorable Mention All-State selection and earned All-Metro and All-District honors. Lewis also was sleected to play in the LHSAA All-Star Game.

  - Lewis finished his senior season with 70 tackles, including 40 solo stops, with nine tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions and eight pass breakups. He also earned the Team Leadership Award at Enterprise and the Foundation Award, which represents a player with great discipline, focus, leadership and high expecations for themselves.

  - Meadows was a team captain in 2014 and rushed for 534 yards with 11 touchdowns. He also passed for 467 yards and three scores but was limited to just four games due to an injury. He was named the OA News Player of the Week after rushing for 228 yards and five touchdowns, while passing for 150 yards and a score in the first round of the playoffs. As a junior, he tallied over 2,000 total yards with 31 total touchdowns.

  - Mezick helped lead St. Paul's to the 2014 Alabama 5A state championship, finishing the season with a 15-0 record and a 35-13 victory over Pleasant Grove in the championship game. He led the team in tackles with 133 and was named an All-State and All-Region player.

  - Milan was an MACJC All-Star selection in his one year with the Rangers. He transferred to Northwest from the University of Memphis where he played in every game as a true freshman. At Olive Branch HS, he was a team captain in his senior season and helped lead the Conquistadors to a state championship. He was also named an MHSAA All-State selection as a senior.

  - Newson set the Northwest MS CC career and single-season record for kick return yards. He returned 32 kicks for 747 yards with a long of 56 yards, helping him earn an MACJC All-Star selection at the position. He finished his career with 56 kickoff returns for 1,343 yards and a 91-yard touchdown.

  - Richardson was a four-year starter at Crockett County HS and was named the Freshman MVP by his teammates. He was also a TSSAA All-District performer as a senior.

  - Schweiger helped lead Louisiana powerhouse John Curtis Christian to two state championships and a consensus national championship. He was a two-star linebacker on Rivals.com and recorded 13 tackles with 87 solo stops and five sacks as a senior.

Raymond Cotton  |  QB  |  6'5  |  240  |  Fort Meade, Md.  |  Belhaven
  - Cotton was a member of the ESPN RISE ELITE 11 QB's for the class of 2009. He spent his freshman season at Ole Miss as a redshirt and transferred to MS Gulf Coast CC. Cotton rushed for 230 yards and two scores, while throwing for 398 yards and two touchdowns in 2012 at Belhaven.

Josh Dixon  |  RB  |  5'8  |  190  |  Clinton, Miss.  |  Hinds CC
  - Dixon played at Clinton High School prior to his time at Hinds. He finished second on the team with 125 carries for 696 yards and six touchdowns. Dixon rushed for a season-high 132 yards on 19 carries with a score in a 31-30 victory over Southwest MS CC to close out the season.

  - Hendershot was a Second Team All-State selection for the Bulldogs, coming to Holmes from Scott Central HS. He also earned the Colonel Brad MacNealy Leadership Award, an honor named after the former Choctaw.

  - Hodges helped lead the Lions to the NJCAA national championship, recording four catches for 35 yards. He had a season-high two grabs for 28 yards in a win over MS Delta CC.

Alex Johnson  |  LB  |  6'2  |  233  |  Greenwood, Miss.  |  MS Delta CC
  - Johnson finished the 2014 season with 44 total tackles, including 24 solo stops. He also recorded 3.5 sacks and two interceptions in seven games. He tallied a season-high 10 tackles against Coahoma CC.

  - Luckey helped lead the Wolves to an MACJC runner-up finish behind eventual national champion, East MS CC. He started at right guard as a sophomore and was named to the MACJC All-Star Team.

  - Sean was a starter for the North Team at the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game, played on Saturday, December 20th. He was an Academic All-State selection and played for national powerhouse South Panola in high school.

  - Scott helped lead the Lions to the 2014 NJCAA national championship, recording 16 tackles, including four sacks. He recorded two sacks against Northeast MS CC and Holmes, also forcing two and recovering one fumble in a win over Coahoma CC.

  - Turner played two seasons at Northeast MS CC where he caught 17 passes for 135 yards. He pulled down 15 catches for 121 yards, including a season-high four catches against Hinds CC.
