CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College baseball team has been predicted to finish second in the American Southwest Conference East Division, it was announced by the ASC office on Wednesday (Jan. 27) after a vote of the division's head coaches, sports information directors, and media members.  The Choctaws received the most first-place votes (10) and only finished one point out of first place with 131 points.

CLINTON, MS - Former Mississippi College Choctaws Nathan Stewart and Brett Hinson were part of the Alexandria Aces baseball team that won the Continental Baseball League Championship with a 7-3 victory over the Big Bend Cowboys on Saturday at Bringhurst Field.

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College baseball program put a final stamp on the 2009 season with the news that junior outfielder Bo Bell and senior pitcher Brett Hinson each earned All-America honors from D3baseball.com. Bell was selected as a First Team All-American and Hinson as a Third Team. In addition to the All-America honors, Hinson and Bell also picked up ABCA-Rawlings First Team All-West Region honors with Hinson claiming West Region Pitcher of the Year.

CLINTON, MS - Mississippi College senior second baseman Tim Bruss has been named the Distinguished Scholar-Athlete for baseball in the American Southwest Conference.  Five other MC student-athletes were named to the Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team.

CLINTON, MS - Mississippi College second baseman Tim Bruss, starting pitcher Tyler Seaman and left fielder Bo Bell have all been selected as All-ASC First Team players this year in a vote of league coaches. The Mississippi College coaching staff was named the ASC Staff of the Year and starting pitcher Brett Hinson earned All-ASC Second Team honors. Seaman also was tabbed the ASC East Division Newcomer of the Year.
