CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College men's cross country team opened the 2010 season with a third place finish at the MC Season Opener at Choctaw Trails.
Zak Prevost led the way for MC with an 11th place finish and a time of 17:13.
Following right behind Prevost were
Andy Mcelyea (12th) and
Will Clingon (13th). Rounding out the MC runners were
Donny Gable (17th),
Tino Gonzalez (19th),
Shane Brogdon (22nd),
Fernando Paz (23rd),
Jesus Solis (26th),
Matt Shidler (28th),
Tim Humphrey (32nd), and
Steven McKay (50th).
"It is good to see Zak running well again," Coach Ard offered. "He spent most of last season sick, and it is nice to see him well and racing again. The guys are a talented team, but as a group they came in really out of shape this year. Our goal is to try to get ready for racing as soon as possible. The times today were not that good, but we did stay pretty focused on the race, so I am pleased with that. Texas-Tyler has a great team again this year, and we are going to have to be ready to be competitive by our conference meet."
The Choctaws will be back in action on September 11th at the University of Texas at Tyler.
