Lady Choctaws Take Down Alumni, 3-1

CLINTON, MS - The current Lady Choctaws soccer team defeated the former Lady Choctaws by a score of 3-1 in the annual Alumni Game held Saturday morning at Robert P. Longabaugh Field.

The Lady Choctaws did not waste any time as sophomore forward Christy Wyne put the Lady Choctaws on the board first with an assist by sophomore forward Arnia Wallace in the ninth minute of the match.

The remainder of the first half was fairly quiet until junior forward Molly Dearborn scored a goal with a couple minutes to spare.

In the second half, Wyne scored her second goal of the day on an assist by Anne McAtee.

Laura Leigh Klein, formerly Laura Leigh Ellis, scored the only goal for the Alumni team.

The Lady Choctaws will open their season September 4th when they travel to Whittier, CA to play host Whittier College at 3:30 p.m. central time.
