CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College men's soccer team opened the 2010 season on Wednesday with two afternoon practices and a morning conditioning session. The Choctaws welcomed 50 players to camp after finishing the 2009 season 12-4-4 and earning a fourth straight trip to the ASC Tournament.
Head Coach Kevin Johns is excited to get the season started. "It's good to see the returners coming back and the talent that we have brought in. This has become a consistently good program, and we expect this year to be no different."
The Choctaws were forced onto the turf at Robinson-Hale Stadium after rain soaked Longabaugh Field this morning. "Moving to the turf for the first couple of days is fine. We are mostly working on technical skills and conditioning right now."
MC will open the 2010 season with the annual Alumni Game on August 28th. The first home game will be on September 8th against Spring Hill.
