ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Gold Glove Awards
CLINTON, MS - Mississippi College senior outfielder
Chase Herrin was honored as one of the three best defensive outfielders in the nation by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Herrin was one of nine individuals to receive a Rawlings NCAA Division III Gold Glove Award. Herrin also earned All-West Region Gold Glove honors.
Herrin made no errors in 112 chances as the Choctaws' center fielder in 2010. The Hattiesburg native also recorded two outfield assists on the season while earning Honorable Mention All-ASC honors. Herrin finished the year with a .410 batting average, including hitting .471 over the final 27 games of the season. In his two-year career with MC, Herrin made no errors in 186 chances and compiled three outfield assists.
