2010-11 ASC Officers Announced

CLINTON, MS - The American Southwest Conference Council of Presidents announced members of the 2010-11 Executive Committee at the group's annual meeting in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday (May 27). Dr. Lee G. Royce, president of Mississippi College, will serve as president, Dr. Lanny Hall, president of Hardin-Simmons University, as vice-president; and Dr. Joe Aguillard, president of Louisiana College, as immediate past president.

The newly-announced conference officers begin their one-year terms on June 1.

The American Southwest Conference, a member of NCAA Division III, will begin its 15th year of league competition in 2010-11. Fifteen colleges and university located in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas hold membership in the athletic conference. Pending the Division III reclassification process, Centenary College of Louisiana will increase membership to 16.

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College Choctaws had six different student-athletes named to the American Southwest Conference Fall 2011 Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team, it was announced by the league office on Thursday (Jan. 26).

RICHARDSON, Texas –– For the sixth consecutive year, Student-Athlete Advisory Committees from all 16 American Southwest Conference member institutions are set to join together in “Make a Change in 14 Days,” a service project collecting loose coins to raise funds for local charitable organizations.

2011 ASC Fall All-Academic Teams
CLINTON, MS - Numerous student athletes from 16 universities and colleges have been recognized by the American Southwest Conference on its 2011 Fall All-Academic honor roll.  The teams were announced by the ASC office on Thursday (Jan. 19) and include the sports of cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball.
