Lady Choctaws Heading to NCAA Tournament

Coach O'Hair and the Lady Choctaws are making their second trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past four years.

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College softball team qualified for the NCAA Division III Softball Championship Tournament in the Pineville Regional beginning Friday at Louisiana College. The Lady Choctaws will face ASC foe East Texas Baptist in the first round after defeating the Lady Tigers three out of four times during the regular season. It is the second appearance in the NCAA Tournament for MC, after going in 2007 and finishing just shy of a trip to the World Series.

Smitherman Named Easton Fastpitch All-American

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The 2011 Easton All-American teams were announced on June 7th and freshman Brooke Smitherman earned a spot on the team. Athletes selected to the Easton All-American teams are those who have had an outstanding season, and who have been stalwarts for their team. Due to the number of deserving candidates who were considered for this award, Easton Sports, Inc. has named "NCAA Division I All-Americans," and "NAIA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III All-Americans."
