CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College Trustmark Classic golf tournament will be held this year at Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison, MS on Friday, May 28. The tournament has become a primary fund-raiser for the Choctaws with all money raised going directly to support athletics at Mississippi College. The grand marshal for this year's tournament with be Art Stevens, President of Trustmark Bank's Mississippi region.

Art Stevens
Art has served as president of Trustmark Bank’s Mississippi region since September 2008.  Stevens has more than 23 years of experience in the financial services industry, all with Trustmark, and has served Trustmark in a variety of capacities, including branch manager, commercial lender/senior lender, community bank president of Hazlehurst, Mississippi, and Brookhaven, Mississippi, and, most recently, as president of Trustmark’s South Mississippi region.
 
A native of Lineville, Alabama, Stevens earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from Mississippi College.  He is also a graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking, the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and Leadership Mississippi. 

Active in the community, Stevens currently serves as a director of the Copiah Lincoln Community College Foundation.  He is a past director of the Brookhaven/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, past vice chairman and director of the Lincoln County Industrial Development Foundation, past vice chairman and director of the Copiah County Economic Development District and past campaign chairman of the Lincoln County United Way.

Stevens is married to the former Becky Howle.  They have three children and are members of First Baptist Church of Jackson, Mississippi.

ASC Fall 2011 Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team
CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College Choctaws had six different student-athletes named to the American Southwest Conference Fall 2011 Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team, it was announced by the league office on Thursday (Jan. 26).

RICHARDSON, Texas –– For the sixth consecutive year, Student-Athlete Advisory Committees from all 16 American Southwest Conference member institutions are set to join together in “Make a Change in 14 Days,” a service project collecting loose coins to raise funds for local charitable organizations.

CLINTON, MS - Numerous student athletes from 16 universities and colleges have been recognized by the American Southwest Conference on its 2011 Fall All-Academic honor roll.  The teams were announced by the ASC office on Thursday (Jan. 19) and include the sports of cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball.

RICHARDSON, Texas –– Artwork created by Mississippi College junior graphic design major Pete Farris will be used on all American Southwest Conference championship T-Shirts for the 2011-12 athletic year, the ASC office announced on Thursday (Oct. 6) after a vote of the conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
