Rhodes Invitational Results
MEMPHIS, TN - The Mississippi College women's track and field team finished 10th at the Rhodes Invitational last weekend. Junior
Jennifer Cooper and senior
Liz Laubenberg led the way with solid performances.
Cooper finished third in the 5000m with a time of 19:01, coming just one second shy of her 19:00 time at USM two weeks ago. Laubenberg won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.59 and finished fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.73.
Junior
Ivy Price also turned in a solid performance in the 3000m steeplechase with a personal best time of 12:20.92.
"Jennifer is definitely running very well right now. She has run back to back 19 flat in the 5k and is not in racing shape yet. I think she will be in the mid 18's by the end of the season and that will give her good momentum heading in to cross country this fall.
"Liz is picking up where she left off last season. It is still March and she is only one second away from her national meet qualifying mark of 1:03 last season. I feel very confident that she will be there again this season.
"Ivy had a great race in the steeple, considering she has not even practiced it this season at all. Once we get some practice over the barriers, I feel like she will be under 12 in that by the end of the season."
