Choctaws Land Five on All-Conference Teams

2010 ASC All-Conference Awards
CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College men's basketball team placed four players on the American Southwest Conference All-Conference and All-Division lists. Senior guard Donnie Haywood highlighted the list earning an All-Conference Team selection as well as being named the ASC East Division Newcomer of the Year.
Haywood, a senior from Monroe, LA, led the team, averaging 13.5 points per game. The Lambuth University transfer was also named to the All-ASC East Division First Team. Haywood scored in double-figures in 16 out of 25 games and was named ASC East Division Player of the Week two times.
Senior forward Andre Thomas earned Second Team All-ASC East Division honors after finishing second on the team with a scoring average of 10.9 points per game. Thomas led the team with a .559 shooting percentage. The Vicksburg native was also named to the All-ASC East Division Defensive Team.
Senior forward Luther Suggs earned an All-ASC East Division Honorable Mention selection. Suggs averaged 10.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 54.5% from the floor.
Freshman forward Cameron Bounds was named ASC East Freshman of the Year. Bounds averaged 4.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while finishing second in the conference with 1.6 blocks per contest.
The Choctaws finished the season 19-7 and earned a trip to the American Southwest Tournament as the #2 seed in the East Division.
