Tyler Seaman Shuts Down Wildcats

CLINTON, MS - Mississippi College senior starter Tyler Seaman allowed just two hits in eight innings of work Friday night to lead the 21st-ranked Choctaws (14-1, 1-0 ASC) to an 8-0 win over Louisiana College (6-10, 0-1 ASC) at Frierson Field in the first American Southwest Conference game of the season for both teams.

Seaman struck out ten batters and didn't allow a walk in his dominating performance. The Pascagoula native improved his record to 5-0 this season.

The Choctaws broke the game open early with five runs in the second inning, taking advantage of two Wildcat errors. MC would add runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings for the final score.

Senior Brannon Walls paced the offensive attack with three hits on the night. Dokota Bodree, Bo Bell, Shane Bennett and Jacob Daniel each finished with a pair of hits.

The two teams meet again tomorrow at Frierson Field for a doubleheader scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
