MC/LC Spring Invite Results
DELHI, LA - The Mississippi College golf team rallied to finish third at the MC/LC Spring Invite at Black Bear Golf Course on Tuesday with a team scored of 640 (329-311). The Choctaws recorded their third top three finish of the season with the finish.
After a first day that saw MC sitting in fourth place, the Choctaws would pass Texas-Dallas for the third spot. The Choctaws trailed the Comets by 13 strokes heading into the final day and finished eight strokes ahead.
Texas-Tyler won the tournament with a team score of 613 (307-306), while McMurry finished second with a team scored of 632 (311-321).
The top individual finisher was Jacob Walsh of Texas-Tyler, who shot a two-day total of 145 (70-75), including the only round under par of the tournament.
MC's top individual performer was junior
Ryan Ratcliff, who shot a 157 (82-75) and earned All-Tournament honors. Freshman
Jack Gordy and junior
Elliot Bingham finished in the top 10 for MC with 160 and 161, respectively. Senior
Joel Richardson finished just outside the top 10 with a two-day total of 162 (86-76).
The Choctaws will travel to Concan, TX to play in the Texas Lutheran Concan Intercollegiate on March 15th and 16th.
