CLINTON, MS - CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College Choctaws (16-3, 12-3 ASC) got back on the winning track with an 80-74 win over the University of the Ozarks (7-12, 5-9 ASC) Thursday night in A. E. Wood Coliseum.

The Choctaws dominated the first half and carried a 38-25 lead into the break. In the second half, Ozarks continued to battle and made the score 64-60 with just over four minutes remaining in the game. The Eagles could get no closer as MC pulled away for the win.

Donnie Haywood led the Choctaws with 16 points. Cameron Bounds and Chazz Hawkins each added 10 on the night.

Ozarks was led by Blake Mitchem with 23 points. 

The Choctaws are home this weekend where they will face the University of Texas at Dallas. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
