Choctaws Open ASC Tournament Friday With Tornados

BELTON, TX - The Mississippi College men's basketball team opens the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Friday against Concordia Texas University at 5:00 p.m. in the Mayborn Campus Center on the campus of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.  Live video will be available for all seven conference tournament games.

The Choctaws (18-6) enter the tournament as the #2 seed from the East Division, while the Tornados (16-9) are the #3 seed from the West Division.  These two teams opened the conference tournament last season with MC winning 104-88.  The Choctaws would advance to the championship game of the tournament before falling to Texas-Dallas.  The Tornados advanced to the Championship Game in 2008 when the tournament was played at UMHB two years ago.

The winner of the game will advance to the semi-finals to face either UMHB or the University of Texas at Tyler on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College basketball teams will wrap the "Make a Change in 14 Days" campaign with a "Play it Pink" doubleheader on Saturday afternoon against the University of Texas at Tyler.  The Lady Choctaws will face Texas-Tyler at 1:00 p.m. with the men to play in the "Golden Dome" at 3:00 p.m.  Donations will be accepted to support the fight against breast cancer and fans are encouraged to wear pink to the two games.
