CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's tennis team opened the season by winning two of their first home matches of the season this week. The Lady Choctaws opened with an 8-1 victory over Belhaven and a 5-4 win over Austin College, while falling to Birmingham-Southern, 5-4.

Against Belhaven, the Lady Choctaws opened the match by winning two of the three doubles matches, including an 8-1 victory by Andrea Boyles and Emily Newman and an 8-0 win by Audra Nicholas and Molly Nicholas. The Lady Choctaws then swept the singles matches against the Blazers.

The Lady Choctaws then pulled out a close victory over Austin College on Friday, helped by taking two of three doubles matches to open the day. MC and AC then split the singles matches, highlighted by Sydney Moak winning the clinching match, 7-5, 6-1, at the #5 position.
