TYLER, TX - Mississippi College junior forwards Jennifer Wair and Jalessa Taylor combined for 46 points and 33 rebounds to lead the Lady Choctaws (19-6, 14-6 ASC) to a 71-65 win over the University of Texas at Tyler Saturday in the Herrington Patriot Center.

Wair led the Choctaws with 26 points to go with her 15 rebounds, while Taylor also turned in a dominant performance with 20 points and 18 rebounds. The Lady Choctaws needed them all to pull away for the win. MC trailed 63-62 with 3:25 remaining, but a 9-2 Lady Choctaw run to end the game secured the game.

Paige Parrish led the Patriots with 23 points and six rebounds, but was just 8-25 from the field. Cookie Domino added 12 points and six rebounds.

The Lady Choctaws won despite shooting just 35 percent for the game, including a 2-20 effort from the three point line. The Patriots shot 38 percent for the game. The difference was on the boards where the Lady Choctaws held a dominating 58-36 advantage.

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College basketball teams will wrap the "Make a Change in 14 Days" campaign with a "Play it Pink" doubleheader on Saturday afternoon against the University of Texas at Tyler.  The Lady Choctaws will face Texas-Tyler at 1:00 p.m. with the men to play in the "Golden Dome" at 3:00 p.m.  Donations will be accepted to support the fight against breast cancer and fans are encouraged to wear pink to the two games.
