RICHARDSON, TX - The Mississippi College softball team finished the 2009 season with their 10th consecutive win after sweeping a doubleheader from UT-Dallas on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Choctaws (22-17, 15-9 ASC) won the games by scores of 12-0 and 10-4.

In the first game, the Lady Choctaws collected 15 hits and capitalized on six Comet errors to score their 12 runs.  Five different players had at least two hits with Lauren Coleman leading the team with three.

Kasey Bomar drove in three runs from the lead-off spot for MC, while Coleman drove in two.

Freshman Whitney Warner (15-5) picked up the win for the Lady Choctaws, giving up two hits and striking out two in four innings.

In the second game, the offensive production stayed high, with the Lady Choctaws scoring in double figures in all four games of the series.

Bomar led the Lady Choctaws with a 4-4 day and three runs scored.  Jennifer Jones led the run production with two runs driven in.

Freshman Kim Mason (7-8) picked up the win in 3.2 innings of relief.  Mason allowed only two hits and struck out two in the victory.

The Lady Choctaws finished the 2009 season with 10 straight wins, but came up just a couple games short of making the ASC Tournament.  With only two seniors, the future looks bright for MC softball.
