CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College football team was well-represented on the D3football.com All-South Region Team with five Choctaw players earning selection led by senior linebacker
Quartez Ashmore and senior offensive lineman
Josh Lankford as First Team picks.
Ashmore, the ASC Defensive Player of the Year, and Lankford, the ASC Offensive Lineman of the Year, combined to make MC one of only four schools with multiple first team selections.
Junior tailback
Steven Knight and senior tight end
Renard Ellis were both Second Team selections. Knight led the ASC in rushing this year with 1,333 yards on the ground, the 4th highest total in MC history. Ellis was among the nation's top tight ends with 58 catches for 748 yards and eight touchdowns.
Senior quarterback
Adam Shaffer earned Third Team honors after a record-setting season and career. Shaffer set new MC career records for passing yards, pass completions and passing touchdowns. His 33 passing touchdowns this season were also a new school record, breaking his own record of 31 set in 2007.
