ABILENE, TX - The Mississippi College women's soccer team finished the 2009 season with a loss to UT-Dallas on penalty kicks in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament at the HSU Soccer Complex on the campus of Hardin-Simmons University.

The Lady Choctaws finished the season with a record of 11-5-3 overall.

After a scoreless first half, the Comets struck first when Andrea Jones scored on an assist from Brittany Ansel in the 56th minute.

The Lady Choctaws would square the match in the 67th minute when senior Kimberly Kaim scored on an assist from junior Samantha Greco.  MC would take the lead in the 83rd minute when Kaim and Greco connected for the second time in the match.

The Comets would score the game-tying goal with only :04 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.  Katie Makanani would score on a corner kick from Emily George to extend the match.

Neither team could score in the overtimes and the match went to penalty kicks.  The Comets scored on their first four tries and eliminated the Lady Choctaws from the tournament.

Kaim, Christa Sutter, Carrie Kirk, and Sarah Birmingham played their final games as Lady Choctaws as seniors.

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's soccer team lost a match they could ill-afford to lose with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of East Texas Baptist on Thursday afternoon at Longabaugh Field.  The Lady Choctaws (9-6, 6-4 ASC) outshot the Lady Tigers (9-4-1, 6-3 ASC) by a count of 16-3, but could not overcome two first half goals.
