CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College volleyball team will open the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. against Texas Lutheran University at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson, TX on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas.  Live stats will be available for all matches.

The Lady Choctaws are making their first ever appearance in the ASC Tournament.

The University of Texas at Dallas will be hosting the tournament after posting the first perfect regular season in league history.  The Comets are also ranked 11th in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Hardin-Simmons University went 16-2 in league play this year and earned the #1 seed from the ASC West and a bye to the semifinals of the tournament.

The Lady Choctaws and the Lady Bulldogs will square off at 2:30 p.m. with East Texas Baptist and McMurry playing at 12:00 p.m. in the first quarterfinal.

NOTES:
  • Admission: Day passes are $8 for adults, $4 for students/children (includes tournament program)
  • No complimentary admission passes will be accepted
  • The ASC Volleyball Tournament's hosting rights rotate by division each year
  • Texas-Dallas also served as the host in 2007
  • The East Division leads the West Division 6-5 for all-time ASC Titles won through the tournament.  There was no such event in 1996 (Howard Payne) and 1997 (McMurry).
