CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's soccer team will open the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. against the University of Texas at Dallas at the HSU Soccer Complex on the campus of Hardin-Simmons University.  Live stats will be available for all matches.

The Lady Choctaws are making their seventh consecutive trip to the tournament and ninth overall.  MC is 5-8 all-time in the tournament and advanced to the championship game back in 2000.

Hardin-Simmons posted a perfect 12-0 record against league competition to win the regular season title and seal the right to host its seventh straight ASC Tournament.  HSU has won the last six ASC titles and 11 overall and will receive a first-round bye.  The Cowgirls are riding a 16-game winning streak and has not lost a conference match in 129 straight tries.

The University of Texas at Tyler, which reached the ASC title game in 2007, locked up the #2 seed and will receive the other first-round bye.

The Lady Choctaws are the #3 seed in the tournament and will play the #6 seed UT-Dallas on Friday afternoon.  The other first-round matchup will pit Mary Hardin-Baylor and East Texas Baptist at 11:00 a.m.

NOTES:
  • Admission:  $5 for adults, $3 for students/children.
  • No complimentary admission passes will be accepted.
  • This is the 12th year of the ASC Women's Soccer Tournament.
  • Hardin-Simmons has served as host for the ASC Women's Soccer Tournament nine different times (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009).
