A. E. Wood Coliseum

A.E. Wood Coliseum is one of the most recognizable architectural structures in the Clinton community. The “Golden Dome” as it is referred to is one of 50 all gold anodized aluminum buildings in the nation.
With a square footage of 48,000, the Dome has a capacity of 3,500 for basketball games, 4,000 for stage events and an arena including 532 theater seats. The Dome is fully equipped with dressing rooms, each furnished with lockers and showers for Mississippi College athletic teams (men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball, track, men and women’s soccer) and visiting teams as well. The upper deck portion of the Dome includes 11 office suites for Mississippi College athletic staff.

Last season wireless internet access was added to the coliseum for media convenience as well as visiting administrators.

Two seasons ago the Quick Rebounders Room was added at the end of the court floor. The room provides space to accommodate 150 people.  The room is equipped with wireless internet connection, network access and an area to cater events. It also is used as a film room for the athletics department.

The facility also includes a fully equipped training room for Mississippi College and visiting athletes, concession stands located near the gate entrance, a meeting room for up to 90 people, and banquet space on the playing floor (with bleachers folded) for up to 600 people. The Dome also has TV platforms with exterior cable access and  a complete sound system for concerts. The platforms are wired for internet access in order to stream video of Choctaw and Lady Choctaw games.
